Carlson Labs, Arlington Heights, IL, has launched Carlson MCT Oil soft gels to offer users “clean energy.”
 
Medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) are healthy fatty acids naturally found in coconut and palm oils. They’re one of the cleanest sources for supplying fuel to our bodies, naturally supporting energy production, according to Carlson Labs. MCT Oil also supports fat metabolism, brain health and overall wellness. Each Carlson MCT Oil soft gel provides 1,000 mg of concentrated medium-chain triglyceride oil, composed of 95% caprylic and capric acid.
 
Fatty acids are defined as compounds made up of long chains of carbon and hydrogen atoms and are categorized by the amount of carbons they have. Short-chain fats have less than six carbons, medium-chain fats have between six and 12 carbons, and long-chain fats have between 13 and 21 carbons. Unlike other fats, which travel through our lymphatic system, MCTs are transported directly to the liver, where they’re immediately processed.
